Assumptions (of a study)
Also called research assumptions
Assumptions of a study are things taken as true for the purposes of a study without being directly tested within it, stated explicitly so a reader understands what the findings do and don't depend on.
In context
You'll usually need this when your findings rest on something you haven't tested directly and want to be transparent about that.
