What is a systematic search log?
A record of every database search you ran: where, when, with what string, how many hits, how many screened. It is kept in the form a methods chapter or PRISMA report expects.
Why keep the log as I search, rather than reconstruct it later?
Because a search logged when you ran it is defensible in a review or viva; one reconstructed from memory a month later is guesswork. A systematic search needs a systematic record.
Is this tool free?
