Citation style

Also called citation format, referencing style, apa style, chicago style, vancouver style

A citation style (APA, Chicago, Vancouver, and others) is a formatting convention for crediting sources, chosen by your field or institution rather than by preference. Getting it consistent matters more than which one you pick.

In context

You'll usually need this when your supervisor or journal specifies a required format you haven't used before.
