Cohesion (writing)

Also called cohesion

Cohesion is the quality of a piece of writing holding together as a connected whole, through consistent terminology, clear transitions, and a visible argumentative thread from paragraph to paragraph.

In context

You'll usually need this when a supervisor says your writing reads as disconnected points rather than a continuous argument.
