Meta-analysis
A meta-analysis is a statistical technique combining numerical results across multiple quantitative studies into one pooled estimate, only appropriate when the underlying studies are similar enough in design and measurement to combine meaningfully.

You'll usually need this when several quantitative studies measure the same outcome closely enough to be statistically pooled.
