Positionality
Positionality is a researcher's own position, background, and relationship to the research setting, and how that shapes what they notice, ask, and interpret, treated as a methodological variable to disclose, not a flaw to hide.
In context
You'll usually need this when a reviewer or examiner expects you to account for how your own standpoint shaped the study, not just the data itself.
