Predatory conference
Also called fake conference, junk conference
A predatory conference charges registration fees while offering little genuine peer scrutiny or academic value, existing mainly to generate revenue from presenters. Listing one on a CV can raise the same credibility concerns as citing a predatory journal.
In context
You'll usually need this when vetting an unfamiliar conference invitation before committing time or money to it.
