Predatory journal
Also called fake journal, junk journal, journal quality concern
A predatory journal charges publication fees while skipping or faking the peer review it claims to provide, existing mainly to collect fees rather than to advance a field. Citing one, even accidentally, can undermine your work's credibility.
In context
You'll usually need this when vetting an unfamiliar journal before submitting or citing it.
