Rigour

Also called rigor

Rigour is the discipline of following a method carefully enough that someone else could check your work and get the same result. It's less about being clever and more about not cutting corners when nobody's watching.

In context

You'll usually need this when a supervisor asks why you did something a particular way, not just what you found.
