Source hierarchy
A source hierarchy is a practical four-tier ranking for evaluating any source: strongest (peer-reviewed, indexed, recent), useful but secondary (textbooks, established grey literature), use with caution (non-indexed journals, older sources without corroboration), and avoid (unverifiable, no authorship, predatory signals present).
