Core Concepts
Subjectivity
Subjectivity is the influence of a researcher's own perspective, values, or experience on their research, treated as bias to minimise in positivist work and as a meaningful, disclosable factor in interpretivist work.
In context
You'll usually need this when acknowledging your own influence on a qualitative study rather than treating it as a flaw to hide.
