Effect size

Effect size is a quantitative measure of how large a difference or relationship actually is, distinct from statistical significance, which only indicates whether an effect is likely real, not how big it is.

In context

You'll usually need this when reporting not just whether an effect exists, but how large and practically meaningful it is.
