Framing Your Question
Gap-spotting
Gap-spotting is the dominant, safer strategy for constructing a research question: identifying an empirical, theoretical, methodological, or contextual hole in existing literature and proposing a study to fill it (Sandberg and Alvesson, 2011).
In context
You'll usually need this when justifying your research question against the existing literature.
